Ali MacGraw

Ali MacGraw (Elizabeth Alice MacGraw) is a American animal rights advocate, writer, model and actor. The actress has won praise for films like Love Story (from 1970), Goodbye Columbus, (1969) as well as The Getaway, (1972). The daughter of a family of artists living in New York she wished to be a part of the arts. Beginning she began as an assistant in photography. In the future she shifted her focus into directing and modeling. The first two films she made got noticed and earned her recognition with the Golden Globe Award of Most Promising newcomer. MacGraw became an international celebrity after her movie Love Story, which earned an Academy Award nomination as well as a Golden Globe. In just three films MacGraw became the most popular female box-office star across the globe. The handprints of her signature, as well as footprints were engraved in 1972 at Grauman's Chinese Theater. In addition to The Getaway Convoy Players she was also in the TV series The Winds of War. Her autobiography, published in 1991 Moving Pictures came out. MacGraw married three people.
