Ali MacGraw

Ali MacGraw also known by her stage name Elizabeth Alice MacGraw has been a model, actor and advocate for animal rights in the United States. Her films are Love Story (1970), Goodbye Columbus ( 1969) and The Getaway ( 1972). She was raised by an artistic family in New York and wanted to pursue a career in arts. In the beginning she was employed as an photographer's assistant. Then, her career shifted to modeling and directing. The first two films she made were noticed and she received the Golden Globe Award of Most Newcomer of the Year. MacGraw quickly became famous in the year 1970 following her hit movie Love Story. She was considered for nomination to an Academy Award and won a Golden Globe. After only three movies MacGraw was named one of the most successful women film in the history of box offices. Handprints, signatures and footprints were immortalized in 1972 by Grauman's Chinese Theater. She also appeared in The Getaway Convoy Players TV Miniseries The Winds of War, along with other films. Moving Pictures, a 1991 autobiography by her, was published. MacGraw has been married three times.
